Plant animations

one
Our first trial was very basic and straight forward. Rather than a 360 degree animation, we showed a process of movement using plates and water bottles.

From photographs of our plant, we made a 360 digital model of our plants by using 123dapp.com programme. We then print screened different angles of the plants and made a stopped animation.

By placing our plants all together, we have zoomed in further and further into the plants and simultaneously showing the decay of colour quality into a complete black and white palette. Whether it is from utopia to dystopia or vice versa is in the hands of the reader.

The energetic and vivid colours parallel with the 'neon tubes' in the novella 'The Ultimate City'. From the short story, readers can learn that same colour palettes can be expressed and be read as an element of 'cheapness' in the one hand or 'alive' in the other.
Doubling this idea, the finishing off palette of black and white can represent decay and fall or pureness and beautiful.
